TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions are regarding all accommodation bookings made by an individual person in Hostel Domus Academica. The individual person making the booking is referred to as Customer on these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions consider all accommodation bookings made via our own website (booking engine). Customers using other booking channels have to comply within their own terms and conditions. Bookings made via other booking channels are not on the responsibility of Hostel Domus Academica.
These terms and conditions are valid from 09.02.2017 onwards.
PRICES AND FEES
The prices of the hostel rooms in Hostel Domus Academica vary based on the time period and demand. Prices also vary between the following rates: Non-Refundable rate and Best available rate. Hostel Domus Academica provides different kinds of additional services and products (breakfast, parking, etc.) and their availability shall be separately announced.
The reported prices include VAT valid at each time.
Hostel Domus Academica holds all the rights to determine and modify any prices stated on our website prior to any new bookings. The Customer will always be informed about any changes made on prices of confirmed bookings.
PAYMENT TERMS AND FEES
All Customers have to give their credit card details upon booking a stay. The provided card must be valid for use during the time of their stay. The payment will be charged in advance from the credit card that the guest has provided when making the booking.
All fees (cancellation fee, smoking fee, etc.) are separately announced, and Hostel Domus Academica has the right to perform a charge and preauthorization on credit card provided upon booking. Smoking fee and extra cleaning fee are both 100 € per room.
Customer may cancel the booking free of charge at the latest of 24 hours before the arrival stated on the booking. Failure to cancel the booking within this time or in case of no-show will result in a cancellation fee equal to the full amount of the stay. Pre-paid bookings cannot be refunded even if cancelled and are stated as Non-Refundable bookings.
ROOM USE, CHECK-IN AND CHECK OUT
The check-in starts at 15:00 on the day of the arrival stated on the booking. Rooms are not guaranteed to be at the disposal of the guests before the check-in time. If the guests arrive to the premises before the check-in time on the arrival date, they can store their luggage in our luggage room free of charge until the rooms are ready.
The latest check out time is at 11:00 on the day of the departure stated on the booking. The luggage room can be used by our guests during the departure date free of charge.
The maximum number of guests is the number of beds per room and this can be considered as a default. For example, a twin room can accommodate a maximum of two guests. Children under the age of 7 can be considered as exceptions regarding the maximum amount of guests per room, and can be negotiated with our staff for each individual booking. However, Hostel Domus Academica does not guarantee any exceptions to be made or completed and holds all rights to act upon the default maximum number of guests per room.
The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the contact information at the time of the booking. Hostel Domus Academica is not liable in case the contact information of the Customer is incorrect at the time of the booking.
A guest staying in a room is fully responsible for all damages and costs incurred to the hotel (including, but not limited to, common premises and rooms with furniture and equipment), other customers or third parties or their property due to the negligence or willful actions of the Customer, guest or other person they have allowed on the premises, or that are due to activities in breach of these Booking Terms. If the identity of the person staying in the room responsible for the damages or costs cannot be found out, or the damages or costs are not successfully retrieved from the person, the Customer shall be liable for the payment of the damages and costs.
The guests are responsible for reporting any problems or faults regarding their stay or their room immediately to Hostel Domus Academica so that repairing actions can be made.
In case of overbooking, Hostel Domus Academica is responsible for organizing the closest possible similar room of equal standard for the Customer with no extra cost. If no accommodation can be provided, the Customer is entitled to a full refund.
The rooms are cleaned every four (4) days and the bed sheets and towels are changed every eight (8) days, if the same guest stays in the same room for the whole stay. Otherwise the rooms are always thoroughly cleaned when a previous guest checks out of the room and a new guest arrives there.
A Customer must be at the of eighteen (18) to make a booking with Hostel Domus Academica. If the Customer or the staying guest of the booking is below this age, a formal permission slip must be provided by the guest’s legal guardian.
COOKIES AND WEBSITE USE
Hostel Domus Academica’s website operates according to the Act on the Protection of Privacy in Electronic Communications (516/2004). The user is responsible to also comply within this act and can find more information on the matter here: http://www.finlex.fi/en/laki/kaannokset/2004/en20040516.pdf.
